AI Field Notes

Privacy.

This notice covers ai-fieldnotes.com. It is a plain-language summary for UK GDPR and the EU GDPR. It is not legal advice.

Who publishes this site

AI Field Notes is published by Nigel Camp (Vinny B), in the United Kingdom. For privacy purposes, that person is the controller of any personal data this site processes.

There is no email address on this page. A request about your data can be opened as an issue on the public repository: github.com/VinnyBaine/ai-field-notes.

What this site is

A static, links-only directory of public finds in AI film and craft. It does not ask you to create an account, sign a form, join a list, or send a message. It does not run advertising. It does not sell data.

What we do not collect

What still happens when you visit

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub, as the host, receives ordinary request data needed to deliver the page: IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time of the request. Those logs are GitHub’s. Their notice is at GitHub’s privacy statement.

Type is loaded from Fontshare (Zodiak and General Sans). Your browser requests those font files from Fontshare, which can see the IP address and the referring page for that request. Fontshare’s notice is at fontshare.com/privacy-policy.

An ambient track, Charcoal Hope, can play from a file on this site. It starts muted. Unmute is a tap you choose. The player does not identify you.

Cards link out to other sites. Those sites have their own notices. This page stops at the click.

Why this processing happens

Serving the page, keeping the host secure, and loading the typeface are done on the basis of legitimate interests: running a public resource and keeping it readable. No consent is asked, because nothing optional is tracked.

Where data goes

GitHub Pages is operated by GitHub, Inc., part of Microsoft, in the United States. Fontshare may also process a font request outside the UK. Those transfers sit with the providers, under their own safeguards. This site does not send a copy of your visit to anyone else.

How long it is kept

This site holds no visitor file of its own. Log retention is set by GitHub, not by this page.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR and, where it applies, the EU GDPR, you can ask to access, correct, erase, or restrict personal data, and you can object to processing based on legitimate interests. Portability rarely applies here, because the site does not hold a file on you. You can also complain.

In the UK, the authority is the Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. If you are in the EU, you can complain to the supervisory authority in your country.

Because almost nothing is held here, a request will usually be a short reply saying so, plus a pointer to GitHub if the data sits in their logs.

Children

This site is not aimed at children, and it does not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this site starts collecting anything it does not collect today, this page will change first. Last updated 1 October 2026.
